Technical Description

Irregular Copper Powders are manufactured by a water-atomising process in our modern, purpose-built facilities. Properties can be engineered as desired by careful control of processing parameters and chemical composition allowing us to offer tailored solutions for our customers.

Our Irregular Copper Powders range includes NLD (Normal Low Density) and Hymod (H) coppers, having low to medium Apparent Density facilitating good Green Strength and Compressibility. Pure Copper is also available where very low impurities are demanded (for example, in the preparation of Master Alloys), and for niche applications, Reduced (Cu{R}) grades are also offered.

All are characterised by:

• Low lead and very low lead (Pb) content
• Good reproducibility batch after batch
• Available in a variety of standard packaging options including 25kg sacks, steel drums (50-100kg) and Big Bags (250, 500, 1000kg).

Usage & Application

Irregular Copper Powders are used in very many applications, markets and technologies by virtue of the wide range of physico-chemical properties. Typical uses include additions to iron powder to improve properties of sintered parts, friction components, metallurgical alloying, decorative applications, welding and brazing, diamond tooling, thermal management, surface engineering, electrical contacts, winning of precious metals, etc.
